Milk Bread Starter
This recipe is a core component of the Milk Bread recipe. It could also be used in any other bread recipe.
Servings
Makes approximately 1 cup of starter, which should be enough for two loaves of bread.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup of bread flour
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup water

Steps
- In a small sauce pot, whisk together flour, water, and milk
- Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, stirring often
- Remove from heat once the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon (5 - 8 minutes)
- Pour into a cup or bowl, and cover with plastic wrap
Storage
Stays good in the fridge for at least 5 days.
