Blazing Through the Intersection
Today’s entry is a short one, as it was less than a five minute encounter, but it’s too good not to share.
My partner and I were driving home one day, and arrived at the last major intersection before we got home. This is a large intersection with two left turn lanes. We were in the right of the two lanes, and since it was a nice day, we had the windows down.
A car pulls up next to us in the left lane, and after a second or two, I hear them call out to us. Just a little, “Hey!”. I’m a nervous nelly, though, so at first I tried to ignore it. When the second “hey!” came, I looked over with a polite smile hoping I hadn’t somehow caused someone to road rage at me.
“You guys want this joint?” the person leaning out the window inquires.
Now, I may take candy from a stranger, but I’m a little too smart to be taking weed from a random car passing by. I politely decline, but then turn to my partner. “Honey, would you like the rest of their joint?” They were actively smoking it, you see. “No, I’m good….” my partner replies. So, I tell them no thanks, and we go our separate ways.
Now, I’m inclined to think that the weed was perfectly fine, as again, they were in the middle of smoking it themselves, but still. Suspicions aside, I just think it’s so funny that not only were they blowing down while going around town, a common Ohio pass time, but that they saw us and thought, ya know, maybe those guys would like the rest of this. My partner and I still talk about them every few times we get to the intersection.
